Hi, from Our Front Porch!

Meadow Star Farms is 40 acres of habitat for animals, fairies, and humans. This small “island” of sanctuary is surrounded by some of the richest farmland and natural scenery in the world.  We are located in what’s called the Magic Valley of Southern Idaho.

The Magic Valley was carved out of a vast high desert by pioneers more than one hundred years ago.

Before that, the area was home to natural and native fauna and flora, as well as Native and Indigenous people of the region, including the people of Sacagawea...the Shoshone.

The desert region of blowing sand, sagebrush, lava rock and rattlesnakes was magically transformed into a lush and fertile area, as the pioneers literally carved out a life here in Southern Idaho.

Dams were built along the magestic Snake River, and irrigation water was diverted north and south of the river to sustain farms with all kinds of crops, as well as ranches and dairy operations with their livestock and cattle.

A portion of Meadow Star Farms has been preserved and restored as close as possible to its Native state, where wildlife is supported and sustained and protected amongst Native grasses and sagebrush and other vegetation. 

Amongst the wildlife santuary, we have carefully and artfully designed a number of small farms throughout the acreage, including wild flowers, fruit trees, shade trees, domestic crops of vegetables, and herbs.

Meadow Star Farms also supports its caretakers with simple housing and office space, as well as places for guests and visitors to picnic and camp.

Visitors enjoy walking paths and trails that artfully meander amongst the various small farms and other areas.

You might find pheasants, ducks, mourning doves, red wing and yellow head blackbirds, robins, finch, quail, and even a family of wild chukar, along with other critters such as porcupine, raccoon, a family of three coyotes, or a red fox...all living and coexisting at Meadow Star Farms.

The acreage is posted against hunting, and we encourage wildlife to thrive and live in this beautiful sanctuary we call Meadow Star.
